About ME
My name is Lyndsay Deitner and I am a mother of four wonderful children. I've completed my DONA Doula training course and in the process of becoming a DONA certified Doula. I would love to get the chance to help you bring your precious child into this world by offering emotional support, physical comfort measures and being your advocate for your birth plan. If needed I am also able to assist you with your desire to breastfeed.
My goal is to further my education in becoming a Childbirth Educator as well as a Lactation Consultant. Pregnancy and birth has been a passion of mine for many years. My first experience of labour was when I was nineteen and having our first child. I was poorly educated on the dynamics of birth. I couldn't tell the first stage from the third stage let alone transition. As a result I ended up with an epidural, catheter, tearing to the second degree and overwhelmed! My next labour was better, but still overwhelming. After that I thought it was time to get busy and start to learn about this process. As a result my next two labours were amazing and not at all overwhelming. Education and support are the key to a memorable labour. I now know that labour is nothing to fear, your body is designed to bring your baby forth. Through my own four labours, my training courses, and experience, I have acquired a great amount of information (from relaxation and breathing techniques to labour positions) that I would love to get the chance to share with you.
